Synopsis

Raised in the suburbs of Phoenix, Turquoise attends college and is interning as a photojournalist at the local paper. She even plans to vacation in Europe over her summer break. All this changes when her grandmother falls sick and "T" is asked to care for her. Turquoise must choose between Rome and the Reservation. A "Rez" summer seems dreadful to the Urban Native, who is ready to discover a world behind the lens of her camera. The road ahead seems so out of focus, but either way, the journey ahead is sure to be an adventure she will never forget.

Why a Native Film?

“I lived on the Navajo and Hopi reservations for a couple of years as a missionary for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day-Saints. When I returned home, I realized there are a lot of negative stereotypes about Native country. I wanted to make a film that could maybe help change some of those stereotypes, by giving others a view from my experience within Native country.” - Holt Hamilton
